For many years my main love of make up was anything to do with my lips, from scrubs, balms, tints and of course lipsticks. So was quite intrigued by Urban Decays new Revolution Lipsticks.
I loved their selection of colours, and it's hard to try and pick which ones to take home.
Lovelight
Turn On
Manic
Most days my lips are in tip top shape, so can wear most brands, what I found about the Revolution Lipsticks however is that I could even wear them when my lips were having a "dry" day. These are advertised as creamy, hydrating and nourishing and I must say I agree, looking at their ingredients I can see they do include jojoba oil, avocado oil, cocoa butter and shea butter so can be used even on the coldest of days.
Lovelight - UD describe this as pale peachy-pink shimmer, I find this is the perfect ratio of peach to pink, as peachy colours normally wash my complexion and tend to make me look pale. Lovelight is the newest shade to my collection, I had been searching for a while for the perfect "your lips but better" lipstick and feel I have finally found it, this is the perfect shade for every day wear, and I find myself reaching for this one more than any other colour at the moment.
Turn On - Rosy pink, this is a highly pigmented pink, almost reminds me of a shade Barbie would wear. This shade can be worn both at day and night, I like to wear this during the day when I need a pop of colour and know I will be using this a lot more Spring/Summer arrives. I find the colour is also bold enough to wear on nights out without looking over the top.
Manic - Soft wine, I fell in love with this colour straight away. Manic is the perfect shade of deep red that can be worn during the day, as well as nights. I own many red shades and some I feel are only appropriate at nights, so I was over the moon when I tried this shade. Out of the three I would also say this shade offers the most in colour pay off, not only does it stay on the lips for around 6 hours, I find it also stains my lips underneath, meaning I don't need to re-apply as often. This shade is definitely one of my favourites out of all the lipsticks I own.
All of these lipsticks are highly pigmented, and glide on the lips with no tugging. I do own a few lip primers to use before applying, but you can actually get away with applying it straight onto your lips and it will still stay on for around 4 - 6 hours. At around £15 each, I'd say they were averagely priced compared to other brands, but probably last on the lips a lot longer and you'll find you won't need to moisturise in preparation or after wearing them all day.
Do you have any Revolution Lipsticks? What are your thoughts on them?
